New Addition to the Light Workover Fleet

Since April 2025, MB Well Services has been operating the AW31, a high-performance light workover rig. The rig was built in 2018 by Koller Maschinen- und Anlagenbau and, following its acquisition from Romania—where it was previously in service—was extensively overhauled and adapted to our technical and operational requirements. Thanks to close collaboration during both construction and the overhaul, we possess in-depth technical expertise to ensure reliable and safe operation.

With a hook load of 90 tons and an optional rotary table platform, the AW31 is designed for a wide range of demanding workover operations at small to medium-sized locations. After completion of all maintenance and adaptation measures, the rig began operations on April 8, 2025, at its first location in Germany.

The performance data to date speak for themselves:

  • approximately 2,900 operating hours on wells over the past 11 completed months (excluding modifications),
  • 5% NPT over the entire period,
  • only 0.8% NPT in the past six months.

As part of the continuous, medium-term modernization of our rig fleet, we have already acquired a second rig of this type. The AW32 is currently still undergoing maintenance and is scheduled to be deployed starting in mid-April 2026, initially in Austria and subsequently in Germany as well. Together, the AW31 and AW32 make an important contribution to the renewal, performance enhancement, and availability of our light workover fleet.

We look forward to many more successful and safe deployments of these units.
