Our T50 hybrid workover rig has been in operation in North Rhine-Westphalia since the end of August. This is the first time the rig has been operated fully electrically in grid mode. The hybrid T50 can be operated in the traditional way with diesel, temporarily with e-fuels, or fully electrically – and thus as green as possible depending on the conditions at the production site.

The start of the first fully electric operation of our hybrid system represents a real milestone on our path to clean workover. We are very pleased to be able to make an important contribution to climate neutrality in two ways:

Once their current conversion is complete, the caverns will serve as Germany’s first commercial hydrogen storage facility. This will allow large quantities of green hydrogen to be stored when wind and solar energy supplies are sufficient – making it available during periods of low energy production and allowing industry to access it as needed at any time.
